After being sidelined for several months while I broke, replace, broke again, and replaced again the elevation motor for my antenna SETI Net is finally back up and running.

If you are wondering – SETI Net is the *only* operating amateur SETI station on planet Earth. I wish it were not so but it is.
If you are interested in following the station progress you can look through my sig. for links.

    Regards……… Jim

Interesting site. How does one know if one has found a signal from extraterrestrials as opposed to somethign else?

Not an easy answer. This section of my Engineering Notebook from 2002 attempts to explain it.

    Chirp (1/13/2002 to 1/15/2002)

One of the major problems was how to chirp the receiver in very small amounts (0.1 Hz) when the receiver only tunes in 10 Hz steps.

I'd be glad to describe the operation to any extent you would like.
