Is there any other evidence for black holes other than there is no known barrier beyond the neutron and if enough matter is present it would simply collapse to a singularity? I have read about someone suggesting quark stars, but it does'nt really answer my question.

Certain observations of stellar phenomena, such as Cygnus-X (?) are consistent with those expected of a black hole.

what i mean is, does a body with enough mass inevitibly collapse into a singularity? is there no way for something with an event horizon to exist without the presence of a singularity?

    Hail Ron.

(time is) move move move, right?

You don't get it, do you.

    You all don't get it.

No one wants to accept a "singularity".

The only singularity you accept is a unidirectional time which makes any other singularity theory suck wet ones.

There are spekulations of something like a Quark-Star, but that's not proven yet. But yes, if the mass of an object is large enough, then it will at some time collapse into a singularity if there's no force to keep it from collapsing (radiation pressure from the star's core e.g.)

    Yes.

Still, relationships scientifically speaking, should one just be content, scientificially speaking, with mapping the human genome to make sure we're all on the same wavelength?
