Is it a major cause of the accelerated expansion of the universe?

The current interpretation is that the two plates in the vacuum are attracted to each other by the open space on each side that is pushing the plates together.

My interpretation is that the human made vacuum chambers are not complete vacuums.
There are some 'residual' molecules still left in the chambers and these molecules are 'banging' on the plates to push them together.
So space has nothing to do with it.

I heard that it is connected to the pairs of virtual particles which emerge from the empty space.Between two plates they can only have definite number of modes, definite energy levels.Out of two plates there can be infinite amount of energy levels.Because of that, the attractive force between two plates emerge. If we suppose that two plates are any physical system,it follows that a space himself have been expanded.

When I think about this experimant, I can also see that the outer surface of the plates is the electrons that are parts of the elements and these electrons would repel each other to push the plates apart.

So the inner space between the plates is being repelled rather than being attracted to each other. This still does not have anything to do with space itself.

All this, of course is speculation.

Are you heard about a dark energy? It reminds me an "negative pressure"
    in relativity.

I do not give much credibility to this research because of the large variations in the white dwarf stars as to their masses and temperatures.

The WD supernovas are supposed to be 'triggered' when the mass they accumulate reaches an equivalent of 1.44 solar mass total.
I consider this to be just an average .
Also, the WD are accumulating hydrogen from their companion stars to reach the 1.44 mass total.
However, there is no observation or traces of hydrogen in these explosions.
Just recently, there was a news article of some hydrogen being detected in one of these supernovas. This is a first.

The masses of WD vary and especially their temperatures. This variation is from 3000K to 100,000K.
With these variations, the 1.44 mass number for creating an explosion lacks credibility.

    Here you go, kaplanal:

    Casimir Effect

Everything you wanted to know about the Casimir effect. Even how to calculate it, if you're so inclined.

In physics, the Casimir effect or Casimir-Polder force is a physical force exerted between separate objects, which is due to neither charge, gravity, nor the exchange of particles, but instead is due to resonance of all-pervasive energy fields in the intervening space between the objects.
Be sure to check out the reference links at the bottom of the Wiki page. They're great.

all the explanations i have come across regarding casimir effect are described to be happening in vacuum. Then why does it affect mems? Does mems fabrication or operation take place in vacuum?

Little fact for you now: Casimir comes from the Slavic elements: kazić "to destroy" and mir "peace, prestige, world" so its true to apply it to the effect of dark energy, as it is destroying the peaceful balance of the universe!

    :-D
