Can such space technology like or satellites or microsatellites make their investsments in preservation of the environment on Earth? For example, such project like Sentinel-6 satellite we can observe sea level and other stuff that can help scientists make particular operation in environmental preservation.

There has been speculation about creating large "collectors" for capturing solar radiation, and sending the energy by laser (or other ER forms) down to Earth.

This could provide a very reliable source for clean energy since it does not release greenhouse gases, or meltdown and release all that radioactivity.

Not sure of the details on how this actually would work, or about the impact on the atmosphere from such ER.

Someone else may be on top of this issue. Lacking that, it might provide a good start for a search of such tech.

Here is a good link for those interested in using orbital assets for decreasing environmental degradation:

There are too many such satellites to list, many operational, others retired and many more in progress. Some examples of currently working climate relevant satellites: Aqua - observing land, ocean, atmosphere, biosphere: GraceFO - gravimetric measurement of ice sheets, glaciers, global water distribution: Jason3 - monitoring ocean sea levels: Icesat2 - measuring ice sheet surface heights: Calypso - cloud thickness, atmospheric aerosols, air pollution. Some studies use data from multiple satellites, eg satellite derived temperature data such as MSU/AMSU uses a bunch of NOAA satellites plus Aqua, Metop-A and others, the Microwave Sounding Unit being an instrument included in multiple satellites.

Earth observation is one of the most used and successful applications of space technology and weather and climate observation feature highly.

I found out that there are different sorts of them. They are used for different purposes and there are different types of them. Like those that observing global desertification, glaciers melting, tracking ocean plastic pollution, monitoring deforestation and the special type of satellites that impressed me is the type that can track rare species of animals from orbit
