It is very far away. The Lagrange points are where the earth and sun balance each other so that neither one can pull or push the other's gravity.
The ISS isn't far, really. Average orbital distance from Earth is something like 250km. You can see it with the naked eye sometimes.
Well that pretty well sum's up my question. per reply # 3, the ISS is ~ 250 Km from Earth & the Lagrangian Point L1 is 1.5 million Km from Earth.
