As of tomorrow (1/25/14) The rover opportunity MER-B Will have been roaming around on the martian surface for a full 10 earth years.

An impressive feat for a 90 day mission. Thus to NASA, The team involved in the rover missions & mankind in general for having the ever presence urge to reach out into the far beyond and explore. I wish to say thank you and congratulations for this amazing feat.

Happy 10th rover, Here's to another 10. Keep on truckin you amazing little bugger.

Have to confess, I'm a bit surprised the amazing little bugger has kept going so long.

Yet another feather in the cap for those marvelous folks at NASA.

I remember the day when Opportunity's touchdown on Mars was reported on the news. It's still hard to believe that 10 year have passed since that day.

I have always suspected that the folks at JPL over-engineer their probes with the specific intention of working them beyond their officially intended lifetime. Long may they continue to bamboozle the holders of the purse strings.

    Marvin keeps it repaired!

Marvin the Martian Movie; no really

Thats right, a feature-length movie on Marvin the Martian. Yes, that little Martian thing. Warner Brothers must be out of their minds, because I dont see any way to profit from a movie on goddamned Marvin the Martian. Its probably one of the most random pieces of news Ive heard all month!

The movie will be a blend of live action and CG, which is even more confusing, because I cant really picture Marvin in a live-action setting. Hell, I cant Marvin well anyways. From whatever Ive seen of him, hes a side-character, a less important villain and mildly amusing. He would be the last person from the Looney Tunes roster Id set a full film on. Even Taz would be a better choice! Or maybe not. No.

The plot will go something along the lines of Marvin wanting to destroy Christmas, and getting trapped in some gift box. With a plot like that, I cant help but not get excited. I mean seriously, is that the best WB can come up with? I know this ones for the kids, but seriously? Please, Warner: we want more superhero movies, especially like The Dark Knight and not some retarded movies on Marvin the Martian.

Opportunity is like a Timex watch. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking (their advertizing slogan from the sixties)
Voyager 1 has been going for 36 years now and is into deep space.
    Amazing stuff.

You do know you are not obligated to go to the cinema to watch it?
