    Yes that's normal. It can be seen in more pictures. It's caused by the contact plate from one of the spectrometers compacting the soil.

    That's what I was trying to remember. I have not looked at these in a while, but I remember that round shape, and thought it was from the spectrometer thing. Only thing is, this appears to be half of one, right? Is that possible? :|
