Any idea what this is?
It looks like some kind of tube.
I noticed it in the mars panarama

Hey, what did you see? I can't seem to find any tube (?).
But
I saw alot of flat rocks, alot of black rocks too, and these flat rocks are scarred with lines, like some heavy stuff has been grinding on them, maybe glacier.
and... why do Mars not have any big boulder at all? why is terrain soo flat and all these tiny pieces lying around?
Is had to tell is it is a tube, or a wedge of rock with a black dot on the end.
It's a martian sandworm.
It's just an odd shaped rock.

That's a Pseudoscience link. Lets try to keep these out of the hard science subforums.

It's a piece of ROVER POOP!!![]()
When viewing the photo take a minute to look from the object at about 11 o'clock, near the top of the frame. You'll see a similar pointy object that looks like a bird's head sticking out from the ground complete with an eye. Perhaps whatever caused the "tube" to form also shaped the bird.![]()
Stupid Martians. Giving us the bird.
I'm amazed with so much footage to pick from that the people looking for aliens haven't found better pictures. Randomly, we should expect there would be more rocks with more peculiarities in so large a mix.
It's almost like somebody went over the whole surface and eliminated all the rock formations that would really be convincing. I mean c'mon, there are people in Mexico who think they see the face of Elvis or Jesus Christ in a potato chip. Why can't we find a rock on Mars that genuinely looks like the face of a celebrity?
It's got to be because the aliens removed all that stuff. .....
I bow at the altar of the Martian rock carrot!
It's a turnip. westwind.
haha this has to be a joke![]()
Martian sandworms are no joke!
Its a carrot for Hoaglands little white Martian Bunny.
It's a door handle and if the rover will just turn it we can see what a martian party looks like. LOL![]()
After several hours study of the original Nasa Images I have just a couple of hypothesis I would like to put before you. If this landscape was here on Earth, and down in the great basalt quarry near where I live, the following conclusions would be provable and repeatable.
1. This Martian landscape was originally created by nuclear like explosions which destroyed basalt buildings as we would recognize them.
2. The debris from the shattered basalt building blocks lies everywhere. Platforms remain.
3. The shallow scooped out areas between the platforms are created by the type of blast used to destroy the buildings.
4. All trace of Martian Civilisation has been erradicated. All this a long time ago. Say, 60,000 years ago.
5. Why? Aliens did not want Earthlings to be aware that Life once existed on the Red Planet. Or perhaps they did not want Martians inhabiting Planet Earth. westwind.
Thank youIf you say so Sir
But on a more humble note, I have had personal rapport (the "t" is silent) with all three of you and know, concerning Mars vegetation, that our collective humors run on the same plane. I also have had personal conversations with PetTastic and would have bet that he also would have guessed it as a carrot rather than a tube
, needless to say I am not always right.

I am 69 years old and intend to stay '69' for the next half dozen years or so. My heart is light and pure and so are some of my women light. Only once in a blue moon do I sneak in a fat and fugly one, or one over 40 years-old, but hey, fat, fugly and older need love too, right?![]()
-- which motivates me to help others understand stellar nucleosynthesis theory of courseWhereby my Martian theories are somewhat mainstream and boring.
On the other hand concerning the biological front, I think we will eventually find Earth-like bacterial life underground on Mars which might drop the jaws of the more timid when it's discovered.
