There is a Harvest Moon the night of September 29. A Harvest Moon is the full moon closest to the Autumn Equinox.
Normally the moon rises 50 minutes later each night. In the fall, there is a narrow angle between the horizon and the ecliptic, causing the moon to rise 30 minutes later for several nights.
This extra moonlight was traditionally used by farmers to harvest their crops.
