Why would the Sun and Moon be nearing each other?

I'm not sure what you are asking here. The Moon orbits the Earth and the Earth orbits the Sun.

Yes, the sun and the moon are nearing eachother... In about 3 months, both will collide and end all life on the moon and the sun as we know it. The mayans fortold this would happen. You should be ashamed for asking the question. You should know this already.

Imagine, being able to create matter out of thin air, and not coming up with using drones for boarding hostile ships. Or using drones to defend your own ship. Heck, using drones to block energy attacks, counterattack or for surveillance. Unless, of course, they are nano-machines in your blood, which is a billion times more complex..

I would ignore what Zwolver said, I think he must have been joking in some way.

I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better answer, but I'm not sure exactly what question you are asking.

As the moon orbits the Earth, at some times it is closer to the Sun than the Earth is, and at other times it is further away from the Sun than the Earth is.

When the moon passes in between the Earth and the Sun, sometimes it covers up the Sun in the sky, and we call this a Solar eclipse. But due to the angle at which the moon orbits the Earth, and the angle at which the Earth orbits the Sun, an eclipse doesn't happen very often.

What you may have heard, correctly, is that the Moon is slowly moving away from the Earth. This is as a result of tidal interaction between the two bodies. This means that when it is on the sun side of the Earth it is slightly closer to the sun today than it was last year. However, its average distance form the sun remains unchanged.

Sorry, i was trolling. I couldn't resist. An inch and a half per year is a lot in some standards. Say you would grow an inch and a half per year from now on, You could be pro basketballer in a year of 10. Not to speak of other parts of your body that would grow 1,5 inch a year. Haha..

The moon's orbit does indeed change a little, it may become slightly elyptical towards the sun, and if it leaves orbit from earth slightly, it will get closer to the sun, but i have no data to support this.

I surely hope "Someone" didn't take my post seriously, or he'll be shopping for canned food and gassmasks very soon.
