Thank you for this valuable link. I hope you'll stick around and discuss astronomy and cosmology with us now!
sweet map dude thz for the link :-D
Thank you!! (:
hate those maps, i want 3D map, not some crappy 2d map seen from earth.
Nice link John. I like the colour coding that shows the spectral class of the star. I don't think I have seen that used on star chart of this type before.
One question: 'A' seemed to be missing. I was sure the sequence was O B A F G K M.
You call this cool star maps?? I have seen better ones.
You call that a useful post? I have seen better ones.
Obviously I have made the above statement to illustrate a point. We wish to encourage people to participate in the forum. Condemning the contents of a first post as you and Zelos have done is not likely to do that. Now some posts are worthy of condemnation, but Rodrigo's offering is useful.
Have I seen better star maps? I have seen more colourful, visually pleasing star maps, yes. Were they more accurate? I don't know. For naked eye astronomy I doubt there was any signgificant difference. I liked, as I noted, the fact that these indicate the spectral class of the star. This may be a feature of many star maps, but I have not noted it before, so I liked that.
Perhaps you could link us to some of the better ones you have seen.
Thanks in anticipation, Ophiolite.
