Okay, I just want you people to read this and tell me just how insane and weird this sounds.
I looked at some Mars photos lately, and I've noticed the land is seriously weird, like bubbly and stuff. 8)
I thought for a moment how did it come to be this way. My crazy theory is that once Mars did have life on it. Then one day something went totally wrong at the center of the planet and there was a huge explotion. All throughout the planet volcanos were errupting and the surface was getting covered by molten rock and lava, this destroyed life on Mars and also this is why the surface is all weird and bubbly.( This is really really crazy) Or the civilization had like a nuclear supply that was hidden underground throughout the whole planet and then some weirdo got drunk  and they blew up the whole place. Wow... My theories do get weirder and weirder each day.

Well you're not that far off, just a bit :P Mars did have volcanic activity, for example the highest mountain on Mars (Mons Olympus or so, which is way higher than our Mount Everest) is a volcano.

You're not the first one to think there was civilisation on Mars. In the late 19th century some fellows named Schaperalli and Lowel thought they saw a structure of irrigation canals on Mars:

Not such a strange idea, with all those enormous valleys and canyons on the Martian surface.

hm.... two drunk people blowing each other up, that would be cool. I just watched this movie it's kinda old, its called Mission To Mars. In the movie a bunch of astronauts go to Mars and discover life there. To my surprise .. the "life" tall, orange and female (that was weird). At the end of the of the movie the "Martian" "tells" them that human beings are actually far desendants of original Marians, that when Mars was about to go bi-bi the Martians send some of it's DNA to Earth, and that created humans :?
weird.....but this theory sounds better to me than us coming to be from monkeys

I remember that movie, it wasn't too bad.

I kind of like the theory Aliens are responsible for the bible and most religions that derive from it. This is not to say the virgin marry didn't exist..etc, just that technology was behind it all instead of devinity.

Well I think I watched that movie, did they find a Russian cosmonaut on the surface? It may have been a different movie. It sure sounds familiar.

If I would commit suicide, I would use this post as a suicide note.
Now that would puzzle the shit out of everyone.

Or rather, I’m going to put it in my will that this will be read as my eulogy.

It would be worth it knowing that none of my friends could refrain from busting a good old funeral gut-laughter.

    HAH!

Read that post again and use your brain this time.
Before you read it, though, you might want to familiarize yourself with humour.

He's a tortured artist. Can't you smell it?

Anyway. This thread would make an excellent inclusion into a pseudoscience forum. (No offense. But that's just the way it is. Science has certain standards and your premise fails those standards. Hence pseudoscience. Not that that's a bad thing...)

It was not random. It was an unproven theory! I want to see you come up with a better one.But wait... YOU can't!
And by listening to you I proved this other theory, all guys are stupid! At least that's my opinion.

Heh heh. Now you're just getting emotional. Relax.

Do you know how the scientific method works?
Do you know the difference between hypothesis and theory?
Do you know what a hypothesis is? What are its requirements?

Your 'theory' doesn't fit those standards. It's just fanciful imaginings. You said so yourself in your initial post. Calling it crazy. Now. Stop being so defensive. There's no evidence that Mars has suffered such a calamity. I have no idea, in fact, what you're even talking about by calling Mars "weird and bubbly'.

Now. If you had said this about Venus then that'd be another story. The accepted story of Venus is that the entire surface erupts into molten fury every so often and completely reshapes the crust of the planet. I can't recall details, I'm afraid, but this is evidenced by the fact that there is no plate tectonics in effect on the planet. Nor any volcanic action. There are volcanoes on Mars. I'm unsure as to plate tectonics... But, it's a certainty that it's entire surface didnt' form at the same time.

But. Maybe the drunk martians spread out their cataclysms to fool us stupid earthlings?

This is Mars, as seen by Spirit's first picture.

Somehow, I miss the "weird and bubbly" texture within the photo, that was mentioned by invert_nexus.

    This IS NOT Mars today...

I've deleted a few posts that didnt contain any information. Thanks cleft for taking the thread on subject again

Btw, do you know whether those rocks are volcanical? And close to the camera there seems to be some brownish rock, almost looks like mud or so. Or maybe it's the trail of the mars rover.

The above picture was made by an orbiting NASA craft. It was the target area for the Spirit rovercraft. The Crater pictured is believed to be an impact crater that might have had the chance of being a lakebed. The Spirit rover was expected to be a 90 day mission life and has made the one year mark and is still not dead. In fact they are not sure when the life of the probe will end. The Spirit has had its ups and downs, suffering a software glitch and wheel malfuntion that now leaves it on 5 of its 6 wheels. This required that much of the traveling that Spirit made to be done backwards instead of the normal forward traveling mode the explorer was designed for.

The Spirit is exploring the Colombia Hills area which is about 2 miles from the Gusev Crater landing site. It took approximately 2 months for Spirit to reach the Colombia Hills from the landing site. It has produced what NASA believes yet more evidence supporting that Mars once had surface water.

Combined with studies of meteorites here on earth that are believed to have come from Mars there is further evidence to support speculation that not only did Mars contain seas but that they were salty in nature, much the same as their terrestial counterparts here.

The anlaysis of martian atmosphere leads scientists to speculate that there may yet be life on Mars. The quantities of methane in the atmosphere that still remains indicates that the most likely contributors are either still active volcanos or life, no matter how primitive it might be.

    From Discovery Channel...
Scientists have not yet determined if the rock's intriguing layering patterns are due to sedimentation, volcanic deposits or weathering, but they are hopeful mineralogy and structural analysis of the outcrop will reveal more about the role of water in Mars' past.

    Methusaleh Outcrop on Mars
Credit: Mars Exploration Rover Mission, JPL, NASA

What is the history of the outcropping of rock called Methuselah? The unusual rock group is visible on the left of the above image taken by the robot Spirit rover current exploring Mars. Methuselah was discovered while maneuvering over hilly terrain and shows unusual multiple layering that caught the attention of the rover science team. Since the above representative color image was taken about three weeks ago, Spirit has moved in to get a closer look. Also visible in the above image are another rock outcrop dubbed Larry's Lookout on the upper right and a larger Clark Hill in the left background. On the far right is a more distant peak of the Columbia Hills.

    <fiction>

Martians were killed by a giant asteroid, but before it hit, they sent some astronauts out into space to find a planet like their own.

They landed on earth, male and female, and populated Earth. :P

Humans being part martians is a good idea. But by looking at my classmates , I start to believe more and more that most human beings came from monkeys. ( And most are still monkeys even on this very day)
