Thread: Whats a good afordable telescope.

Im sure some of you have some real nice ones. Mine is a cheapo. But it was given to me by a good friend. The tripod is just too unstable. I thought I discovered a new star with a strange mark on it. The mark turned out to be the sylvania. So I was looking at my neighbors light post. Thanks Filix.

I had a feeling this realy wasn't the place to ask this. We have a local astronomy club here in maine. I am planning on joining. Im sure thats a good place to ask. Maybe I could make my own. Filix.

You really need a newtonian reflector -preferably with a mirror larger than 6 inches in diameter and an equatorial mounting.
