Someone please debunk the smudges on some photos, and the blanking of some pictures of the moons surface. I am to quote Alice, getting curiouser and curiouser.

You can hide all the alien moon bases and crashed spaceships using photoshop these days.
So no need to leave smudges
Science divison and Binz like this.
I believe in nothing, but trust gravity to hold me down and the electromagnetic force to stop me falling through
Physics is the search for the best model not the truth, as only mythical beings know that.

To debunk outlandish theories once and for all by exposing them to scientific facts?

I am asking why certain photos are smudged, I'm getting conspiratol 'facts' thrown at me and I want to know why they are smudged in some areas and some not. Seems odd that space agencies that can map the moon still manage to get huge smudge marks on their photos, we are talking about professionals here right?

I am asking a question and to which the answer is to debunk conspiracy theorists. I am suprised by your apprent suprise Lynx, what would you rather me do? Believe them?

Ignore them, since they are unsubstantiated crap that has been debunked (with facts) so many times the dead horse is dessicated. A simple google search would reveal that, unless you just want to believe in some stupid conspracy theory.

You could point to what pictures you're even talking about for starters so we don't feel like where reading the script off Art Bell's "Coast to Coast." Than we can look at whether they were film, digital, how were they taken and other things that might provide the most reasonable explanation.

Did you see the resolution info : 1 pixel = 1km; image size 768 x 768. This would mean that each of these supposed "objects" is several hundred kilometers large. Objects of that size would be clearly visible through even amateur-grade telescopes; a tower-like object of that size would literally stick out like a sore thumb !!!
    Enough said.

I think what Lynx_Fox is trying to point out is that you aren't likely to get very far with "conspiracy theorists". These people have made it their life's work to defend their own model of the world, which is full of UFOs, aliens, world-wide government conspiracies and such like. No matter what argument you throw at them, they will always make it fit into their own model. Best to just present your evidence, and then stop responding to any further nonsense from them.

If someone REALLY wanted to hide something in publicly accessible photos, they would just edit it out digitally before publishing, instead of leaving tell-tale smudges; this entire idea is just ludicrous. There is nothing to debunk in the first place.
