    I tend to agree with stephen hawking.My point in question is, that according the hawking equation the black hole seems to dissipate therefore,the information (smear as susskind termed) is gone.not sure i agree with the solution Mr hawking came up with,but that's another story

    Note: Im not trying to flame Leonard Susskind,just looking for answers either way regarding the proponents views.other solutions to the information paradox may exist...theoretically speaking

    The problem seems to be solved by the holographic principle. By the way, Hawking now admit his failure in this matter, and agrees with Susskinds solution (the holographic principle)

    I do quite like the holographic principle.It does however raise some issues for me.
    Mainly the implication that everything is 'mapped',but im not sure if that includes time mapping,or histories, if you follow me.
    If the holographic universe is the way the universe 'works',then gravity wave studies will find no evidence of gravity waves.
