Hello. Last night i accidently locked myself out of my house with my parents, neighbors, and siblings. While waiting outside, the sky turned to a bright puke green. There was no clouds in the sky, no thunder was heard and no lightning was seen. The whole sky was light this color, not blotches or streeaks, but the whole sky. It lasted between 5 to 10 seconds before slowly fading back to black. This inciddent scared all who saw it and I was wondering if anyone had an answer to this phenomenome. Note: this is irrelevant to the sky but after it faded i believe i heard something crashing in my woods. But please if you have any answer for the incident please respond. Thank-you.

Could it be some sort of Aurora?
Was there wavy shifts or patterns?
Do you live close to a pole?

auroras dont fill the whole sky. only god's mouth/stomach is big enough.

    Darth,
the words 'last night' are rather imprecise. What time? What time was sunset? Was there any residual sky glow from the sunset?

Do you live in a city, a town, a village, in the country? How much of a sky glow do you typically have from the nearest built up area?

You say there were no clouds? How do you know this? High level thin clouds can be difficult to detect, or are you saying that the stars were all brilliantly clear across the entire sky?

You can see there is a lot of detail that is needed to even take a stab at what you saw. Hope you can provide some of it.

I saw a documentary on Magnetic Poles, earth magntic field and the cycle of pole inversions.

One aspect that I didnt know about was that when the time for the reversal of poles approaches, the magnetic field does not simply weaken and then switches all at once all nice.

It seams that streams or bubbles of opposite magnetic field get created. These bubble of inverse magnetic field cumulate until the overall picture is that the whole south pole and north pole have inverted.

The implication of this (beyond the navigation havoc of having half a dozen magnetic poles or more moving around earth) is that there apparently will be magnetic holes (coinciding with the mini-magnetic-poles) in the earths magnetic field that are likely to slowly move about like a cloud. Such a hole will not block as much of the sun's radiation, meaning there could be auroras over Madrid(or any city) and that radiation exposure for the land below this magnetic phenomenon will be quite high.

Right now the holes in a matter of speaking are more or less perpendicular to solar wind and radiation because they are close to the poles, but imagine a hole closer to the equator that would be straight in front of the sun.

I myself just witness, what sounds like the same "green sky" last night. At around 11:37 pm. I live in Toledo, Ohio and was facing northeast when all of a sudden this section of the sky faded into this solid green color for a second then it faded out. I have never seen anything like this in my life. What could it be?

Since I live in Florida, i know that if a power transformer like the one that powers your house explodes, there is always a lot of very bright green light. This light is usually enough to light up the whole sky. Is this a possible explination?

    They are watching.

Sorry I couldn't help myself. This sounds very interesting. I would love to hear more explanations.
