Last night and 2 nights b4 I saw the weirdest thing ever in the sky... IM in Thornburg VA well at 1am on both nights i saw kinda like a shooting star kinda thing but shorter and they where only one at a time you would see it for less than a second and it would vanish then reappear it was following a line or something it didnt go just straight it went like a plane flying in circles but not perfect circules just flying around it was staying in the one area and it apeared in the same exact area both times what could it be? i have no pics but maybe if i see it again ill take some if i can. any ideas

Could it be a meteor shower of several shooting stars? It could be some type of aircraft or satellite.

Well, you have a genuine UFO. There are probably other websites which would be happy to hear from you.

Shooting stars are often about the size of a grain of sand,. In a second or less they can heat white hot and vapourise while covering a fair distance (maybe 30 miles). If there is a shower of them, they would be in one area and the short lines of white light may appear connected to each other like something appearing and disappearing as your eyes try to make sense of them.

Do you remember, where these phenomena appeared? What constellation? To the east or west? You may want to have a look at this website:

I just figured out that the constellation of Pegasus was just rising at 1:00 am at your location.
