Anywhere the wind blows - Chris Rea/J.J. Cale (The Road to Escondido)

Why the new thread? Has the original hit an upper limit in posts or pages or something?
Mutt - Blink-182
Tongue - Seether (South African band)
Something like that. Long threads tend to bog down a forum engine. Besides, this is more neat.Originally Posted by Chemboy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFVHjZYoq4Q
Check him out!
I've seen them live. My favourite song by them is 'In my pocket.' Good taste :PDays Like These - The Cat Empire
I dig LTJ Bukem. You big into drumnbass?
I've seen him live a couple of times, and shook his hand :P
Yeh, I mostly like "intelligent DnB" as it's called. Artists like LTJ, Seba&Paradox, Omni Trio (Renegade snares), Doc Scott, Photek, and High Contrast, amongst others. I really prefer that type of DnB, with ambient basslines, and a bit of jazz and funk thrown in, to really dark, grimy DnB (Although I have been known to 'skank out' on many occassions).
I also like some dance, some techno (LFO and 'Future prophecy' are good), and some bassline house.
Those are the main things I like, but having played the drums for 5 years, I've dipped my hand in a bit of everthing, and have quite a wide range of tastes. Notably I like alot of funk and jazz, for some of the funky grooves and technicalities, and some 'swing' and 'big band' purely for the drum solo's.
I also like various rock artists too. UB40 are legends (from birmingham where I live) amongst others. I also went to see a progressive rock band called 'YES' (From the 60's...yes...they came on in zimmerframes!) with my dad, and ended up really liking all the weird sounds and time patterns, especially the drum solos.
....Man I could talk all day about music. What about you then? You into DnB?
I'm so jealous at you. I would want to see them live.Originally Posted by bit4bit

Since this is the art and culture forum, I'll admit the Club Penguin coffee shop theme is still playing since my son let his game idle.
Same here, I heard someone playing 'In my pocket' and really liked it, so I found out about the Cat Empire, and got an album. The tunes are all real feelgood tunes as you say, and the sound is so original...it almost makes me laugh in places, when he starts doing the vocal solos, lol!...perfect for summer.Originally Posted by Elina
When I saw them live it was only quite a small venue, with a handful of people, so i was right close to the stage. The vocal solo was mad, and the trumpets were wicked too!
