The Pursuit of Happiness - The Downward Road (1993)

A couple of years ago, I somehow set a switch set wrongly in my iTunes, eventually corrected the error, and then did something reckless that ended up dumping a portion of my library in the trash. Since then, I've had a directory set aside where I towed that wreck, and I've been picking it apart whenever I feel up to it. Tonight I picked this album out because I haven't listened to it in all that time. I was looking at the three songs from Love Junk I'd downloaded and thinking, "I know I have more of this somewhere."

Song currently playing: "Love Theme From TPoH"
On deck: "Forbidden World", "But I Do"

"A red rose absorbs all colours but red; red is therefore the one colour that it is not." (Perdurabo)

Yeah it is but I figured that now we have a Art & Culture forum this would be a better place for it.

Deep Fried And Sanctified by The Reverend Billy Wirtz

A very funny and adult comedian. Similiar to George Carlan but not the same at all except great humor if you like adult type of humor.

Lay Lady Lay by Bob Dylan

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Whatever colors you have in your mind
I’ll show them to you and you’ll see them shine

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Until the break of day, let me see you make him smile
His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you’re the best thing that he’s ever seen

Stay, lady, stay, stay with your man awhile
Why wait any longer for the world to begin
You can have your cake and eat it too
Why wait any longer for the one you love
When he’s standing in front of you

Lay, lady, lay, lay across my big brass bed
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead
I long to see you in the morning light
I long to reach for you in the night
Stay, lady, stay, stay while the night is still ahead

One of my favourite tunes Cosmic. I know this is probably pretty lame, but Duran Duran (believe it or not) does a pretty good version of Lay Lady Lay 8)

Saw them at an InFlames concert last year and found one of their CDs last week, pretty cool stuff.

I like Tracy Chapman too. I haven't listened to Coldplay though. I'm so old. Can you compare Coldplay to something else that I might know? I like a lot of rock, classic and new. I like a lot of reggae, especially older stuff. I like a lot of music, I've just been a little out of touch lately.

Stairway To Heaven by Led Zepplin

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking

Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forest will echo with laughter

    And it makes me wonder

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
    Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen

Yes there are two paths you can go by
    but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on

Your head is humming and it won't go because you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady can't you hear the wind blow and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

And she's buying a stairway to heaven, uh uh uh.

    Bob Dylan: Positively 4th Street

    You got a lotta nerve
To say you are my friend
    When I was down
    You just stood there grinning

    You got a lotta nerve
To say you got a helping hand to lend
You just want to be on
    The side that's winning

You say I let you down
You know it's not like that
    If you're so hurt
Why then don't you show it

You say you lost your faith
But that's not where it's at
You had no faith to lose
    And you know it

    I know the reason
That you talk behind my back
I used to be among the crowd
    You're in with

Do you take me for such a fool
    To think I'd make contact
With the one who tries to hide
What he don't know to begin with

You see me on the street
    You always act surprised
You say, "How are you?" "Good luck"
    But you don't mean it

When you know as well as me
    You'd rather see me paralyzed
Why don't you just come out once
    And scream it

No, I do not feel that good
When I see the heartbreaks you embrace
If I was a master thief
    Perhaps I'd rob them

And now I know you're dissatisfied
With your position and your place
    Don't you understand
    It's not my problem

I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
    I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
    To see you

Happy hardcore is a form of techno music typified by a very fast BPM (usually around 165-180), female vocals, and sweet lyrics. Its characteristically 4/4 beat "happy" sound distinguishes it from most other forms of breakbeat hardcore, which tend to be darker. It often has piano samples and spacey effects. This genre of music is closely related to the typically Dutch genre of Gabba. Happy hardcore evolved from rave music around 1991–1993, as the original house music-based rave became faste

I used to be into mostly rap, then about half a year ago one of my friends gave me Bonkers 11 – I’ve never looked back.

    http://www.geekmungus.co.uk/bonkers.htm

Check out the radio on HappyHardcore.com and take a listen (I think the 32k channel is the best).

Don’t forget to listen to it loud!
    HARDCORE TILL I DIE!!!

    July Morning by Uriah Heep

There I was on a july morning
    Looking for love
    With the strength
    Of a new day dawning
    And the beautiful sun

    At the sound
    Of the first bird singing
    I was leaving for home
    With the storm
    And the night behind me
And a road of my own

With the day came the resolution
    I’ll be looking for you
    La la la la ¡*

    I was looking for love
    In the strangest places
    Wasn’t a stone
    That I left unturned
    Must have tried more
    Than a thousand faces
    But not one was aware
    Of the fire that burned

In my heart, in my mind, in my soul
    La la la la ¡*

There I was on a july morning
    I was looking for love
    With the strength
    Of a new day dawning
    And the beautiful sun

    And at the sound
    Of the first bird singing
    I was leaving for home
    With the storm
    And the night behind me
Yeah, and a road of my own

    Nashville Cats by Lovin' Spoonfull

Nashville Cats, play clean as country water
Nashville Cats, play wild as mountain dew
Nashville Cats, been playin' since they's babies
Nashville Cats, get work before they're two

Well, there's thirteen hundred and fifty two
    Guitar pickers in Nashville
And they can pick more notes than the number of ants
    On a Tennessee anthill
Yeah, there's thirteen hundred and fifty two
    Guitar cases in Nashville
And any one that unpacks his guitar could play
Twice as better than I will

Yeah, I was just thirteen, you might say I was a
    Musical proverbial knee-high
When I heard a couple new-sounding tunes on the tubes
    And they blasted me sky-high
And the record man said every one is a yellow Sun
    Record from Nashville
And up north there ain't nobody buys them
And I said, but I will.

Well, there's sixteen thousand eight hundred twenty one
    Mothers from Nashville
All their friends play music, and they ain't uptight
If one of the kids will
Because it's custom made for any mother's son
To be a guitar picker in Nashville
And I sure am glad I got a chance to say a word about
The music and the mothers from Nashville

Does posting lyrics to songs really count cosmictraveler? :P
Shouldn’t you be saying why you listen to the genre of music you do?
Just a thought to make the thread a tad bit more interesting….

Many people have not ever heard of many of the songs I post so I felt that if I would also enclose the lyrics those people would enjoy to see what the song was all about, without the music of course. :-D

No,I have over 3000 songs that I will place on here over time if I listen to them all. 8)

    Question by The Moody Blues

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
    With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
    In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the war of love is for

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be

And when you stop and think about it
    You won't believe it's true
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.

I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew
    Could safely lead me through.

Between the silence of the mountains,
And the crashing of the sea,
There lies a land I once lived in,
And she's waiting there for me,
But in the grey of the morning,
    My mind becomes confused,
Between the dead and the sleeping,
And the road that I must choose.

I'm looking for someone to change my life,
I'm looking for a miracle in my life
And if you could see what it's done to me,
To lose the love I knew,
    Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew,
To learn as we grow old
    The secrets of our soul.

It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be

Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door
    With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war?
'Cos when we stop and look around us,
There is nothing that we need,
    In a world of persecution
That is burning in its greed.

World Without Love By Peter and Gordon

    Please lock me away
    And don't allow the day
    Here inside where I hide
    With my loneliness

    I don't care what they say I won't stay
    In a world without love

    Birds sing out of tune
And rain clouds hide the moon
    I'm OK, here I'll stay
    With my loneliness

    I don't care what they say I won't stay
    In a world without love

So I wait and in a while
I will see my true love's smile
She may come, I know not when
    When she does I lose
    So baby until then

    Lock me away
    And don't allow the day
    Here inside where I hide
    With my loneliness

    I don't care what they say I won't stay
    In a world without love

    ------ organ/guitar ------

So I wait and in a while
I will see my true love's smile
She may come, I know not when
    When she does I lose
    So baby until then

    Lock me away
    And don't allow the day
    Here inside where I hide
    With my loneliness

    I don't care what they say I won't stay

Time In A Bottle by JIM CROCE

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
    Is to save every day
    Till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
    Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
    Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
    The box would be empty
    Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
    Once you find them
I've looked around enough to know
That you're the one I want to go
    Through time with.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath by Black Sabbath

You've seen life through distorted eyes
You know you had to learn
    The execution of your mind
    You really had to turn
The race is run the book is read
    The end begins to show
The truth is out, the lies are old
But you don't want to know

Nobody will ever let you know
When you ask the reasons why
They just tell you that you're on your own
Fill your head all full of lies

The people who have crippled you
You want to see them burn
The gates of life have closed on you
And now there's just no return
You're wishing that the hands of doom
    Could take your mind away
And you don't care if you don't see again
    The light of day

Nobody will ever let you know
When you ask the reasons why
They just tell you that you're on your own
Fill your head all full of lies
    You Bastards!

    Where can you run to
    What more can you do
    No more tomorrow
    Life is killing you
    Dreams turn to nightmares
    Heaven turns to hell
    Burned out confusion
    Nothing more to tell

    Everything around you
    What's it coming to
God knows as your dog knows
    Bog blast all of you
    Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
    Nothing more to do
    Living just for dying
    Dying just for you

No offence cosmictraveler, but does anybody read these lyrics?
What was God doing before He created the Universe?
Before He created Heaven and Earth, God created Hell to be used for people such as you who ask this kind of question.

    I do

    Innocent Man by Billy Joel

Some people stay far away from the door
If there's a chance of it opening up
They hear a voice in the hall outside
And hope that it just passes by

Some people live with the fear of a touch
And the anger of having been a fool
They will not listen to anyone
So nobody tells them a lie

I know you're only protecting yourself
I know you're thinking of somebody else
    Someone who hurt you
    But I'm not above
    Making up for the love
You've been denying you could ever feel
    I'm not above doing anything
To restore your faith if I can
Some people see through the eyes of the old
Before they ever get a look at the young
I'm only willing to hear you cry
Because I am an innocent man
    I am an innocent man
    Oh yes I am

Some people say they will never believe
Another promise they hear in the dark
Because they only remember too well
They heard somebody tell them before

Some people sleep all alone every night
Instead of taking a lover to bed
Some people find that it's easier to hate
    Than to wait anymore

I know you don't want to hear what I say
I know you're gonna keep turning away
But I've been there and if I can survive
    I can keep you alive
I'm not above going through it again
I'm not above being cool for a while
If you're cruel to me I'll understand

Some people run from a possible fight
Some people figure they can never win
And although this is a fight I can lose
The accused is an innocent man
    I am an innocent man
    Oh yes I am
    An innocent man

You know you only hurt yourself out of spite
I guess you'd rather be a martyr tonight
    That's your decision
    But I'm not below
    Anybody I know
If there's a chance of resurrecting a love
I'm not above going back to the start
To find out where the heartache began

Some people hope for a miracle cure
Some people just accept the world as it is
But I'm not willing to lay down and die
Because I am an innocent man

    I am an innocent man
    Oh yes I am
    An innocent man

Prince Rupert awakes by King Crimson

    Arince rupert awakes
    Farewell the temple master’s bells
His kiosk and his black worm seed
    Courtship solely of his word
    With eden guaranteed.
For now prince rupert’s tears of glass
    Make saffron sabbath eyelids bleed
Scar the sacred tablet of wax
    On which the lizards feed.

    Wake your reason’s hollow vote
    Wear your blizzard season coat
Burn a bridge and burn a boat
Stake a lizard by the throat.

    Go polonius or kneel
The reapers name their harvest dawn
    All your tarnished devil’s spoons
    Will rust beneath our corn.
Now bears prince rupert’s garden roam
Across his rain tree shaded lawn
    Lizard bones become the clay-
And there a swan is born

    Wake your reasons’ hollow vote
    Wear your blizzard season coat
Burn a bridge and burn a boat
Stake a lizard by the throat.

    Gone soon piepowder’s moss-weed court
    Round which upholstered lizards sold
    Visions to their leaden flock
    Of rainbows’ ends and gold.
Now tales prince rupert’s peacock brings
Of walls and trumpets thousand fold
    Prophets chained for burning masks
And reels of dream unrolled . . .

The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys by Traffic

If you see something that looks like a star
And it’s shooting up out of the ground
And your head is spinning from a loud guitar
And you just can’t escape from the sound
Don’t worry too much, it’ll happen to you
We were children once, playing with toys
And the thing that you’re hearing is only the sound of
The low spark of high-heeled boys

The percentage you’re paying is too high priced
While you’re living beyond all your means
And the man in the suit has just bought a new car
From the profit he’s made on your dreams
But today you just read that the man was shot dead
By a gun that didn’t make any noise
But it wasn’t the bullet that laid him to rest was
The low spark of high-heeled boys

If you had just a minute to breathe and they granted you one final wish
Would you ask for something like another chance?
Or something similar as this? don’t worry too much
It’ll happen to you as sure as your sorrows are joys
And the thing that disturbs you is only the sound of
The low spark of high-heeled boys

If I gave you everything that I owned and asked for nothing in return
Would you do the same for me as I would for you?
Or take me for a ride, and strip me of everything including my pride
But spirit is something that no one destroys
And the sound that I’m hearing is only the sound
The low spark of high-heeled boys

All about the smile that’s on your face,
You feel alive in the human race,

    All how you feel inside,
    From week day blues,
    To wicked highs,
    Lazy days and crazy nights,
We go so hard we see for miles!
    Yeah miles and miles,

Shut you eye’s we’ll rush you blind!

    Epitaph by King Crimson

The wall on which the prophets wrote
    Is cracking at the seams.
    Upon the instruments of death
    The sunlight brightly gleams.
When every man is torn apart
    With nightmares and with dreams,
Will no one lay the laurel wreath
    As silence drowns the screams.

Between the iron gates of fate,
The seeds of time were sown,
And watered by the deeds of those
    Who know and who are known;
    Knowledge is a deadly friend
When no one sets the rules.
The fate of all mankind I see
Is in the hands of fools.

    Confusion will be my epitaph.
As I crawl a cracked and broken path
If we make it we can all sit back
    And laugh.
But I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying,
Yes I fear tomorrow I’ll be crying.

Lately I've been listening a lot to The Sins of Thy Beloved, but there's a lot more than that on my playlist, many different genres.

    PLACEBO - Pure Morning

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend with weed is better,
A friend with breasts and all the rest,
A friend who's dressed in leather,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
    A friend who'll tease is better ,
    Our thoughts compressed,
    Which makes us blessed,
    And makes for stormy weather,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
    My Japanese is better,
And when she's pressed she will undress,
    And then she's boxing clever,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,
My friend confessed she passed the test,
    And we will never sever,

Day's dawning, skins crawling [repeat three more times]
Pure morning, [repeat this three more times]

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who'll tease is better,
    Our thoughts compressed,
    Which makes us blessed,
    And makes for stormy weather,

A friend in needs a friend indeed,
A friend who bleeds is better,

    Gallows Pole by Led Zepplin

Hangman, hangman, hold it a little while,
Think I see my friends coming, Riding a many mile.
Friends, did you get some silver?
Did you get a little gold?
What did you bring me, my dear friends, To keep me from the Gallows Pole?
What did you bring me to keep me from the Gallows Pole?

I couldn't get no silver, I couldn't get no gold,
You know that we're too damn poor to keep you from the Gallows Pole.
Hangman, hangman, hold it a little while,
I think I see my brother coming, riding a many mile.
Brother, did you get me some silver?
Did you get a little gold?
What did you bring me, my brother, to keep me from the Gallows Pole?

Brother, I brought you some silver,
I brought a little gold, I brought a little of everything
To keep you from the Gallows Pole.
Yes, I brought you to keep you from the Gallows Pole.

Hangman, hangman, turn your head awhile,
I think I see my sister coming, riding a many mile, mile, mile.
Sister, I implore you, take him by the hand,
Take him to some shady bower, save me from the wrath of this man,
Please take him, save me from the wrath of this man, man.

Hangman, hangman, upon your face a smile,
Pray tell me that I'm free to ride,
Ride for many mile, mile, mile.

Oh, yes, you got a fine sister, She warmed my blood from cold,
Brought my blood to boiling hot To keep you from the Gallows Pole,
Your brother brought me silver, Your sister warmed my soul,
But now I laugh and pull so hard And see you swinging on the Gallows Pole

    Swingin' on the gallows pole!

    Matilda Mother by Pink Floyd

There was a king who ruled the land.
    His majesty was in command.
With silver eyes the scarlet eagle
    Showers silver on the people.
    Oh Mother, tell me more.

Why'd'ya have to leave me there
    Hanging in my infant air
    Waiting?
You only have to read the lines
They're scribbly black and everything shines.

Across the stream with wooden shoes
With bells to tell the king the news
A thousand misty riders climb up
    Higher once upon a time.

    Wandering and dreaming
    The words have different meaning.
    Yes they did.

For all the time spent in that room
The doll's house, darkness, old perfume
And fairy stories held me high on
    Clouds of sunlight floating by.
    Oh Mother, tell me more
    Tell me more.
    Aaaaaaaah

On The Turning Away --- Pink Floyd

    On the turning away
    From the pale and downtrodden
    And the words they say
    Which we won’t understand
    Don’t accept that what’s happening
Is just a case of others’ suffering
Or you’ll find that you’re joining in
    The turning away

    It’s a sin that somehow
    Light is changing to shadow
    And casting it’s shroud
    Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that we’re all alone
In the dream of the proud

On the wings of the night
    As the daytime is stirring
    Where the speechless unite
    In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerized as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night

    No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
    No more turning away
    From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It’s not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there’ll be
    No more turning away?

    Take On Me

    We're talking away
    I don't know what
I'm to say I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
    Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, OK?

Take on me, take me on
    I'll be gone
    In a day or two

    So needless to say
    I'm odds and ends
    But that's me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
    Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me, take me on
    I'll be gone
    In a day or two

Oh the things that you say
    Is it life or
Just a play my worries away
You're all the things I've got to
    remember
    You're shying away
I'll be coming for you anyway

Take on me, take me on
    I'll be gone
    In a day or two

Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I listened to such perfect melody, I knew such lovely pictures!

    Qui s'enfuit déj*
    Oublier le temps

    Et le temps perdu
    A savoir comment
    Oublier ces heures
    Qui tuaient parfois
    A coups de pourquoi
    Le cœur du bonheur
Ne me quitte pas (4 fois)

    Où tu seras reine

All American Alien Boy by Ian Hunter

I packed my bags - in the land of rags

cos I dont believe in them dimmo drags

Dont wanna vote for the left wing - dont wanna vote for the right

I gotta have both-to make me fly

Just a whitey from blighty - heading out west

Got my little green card n my bulletproof vest

Goin to old tube city - where the buzz is the best

On down the line (down the line) down the line (down the line)

Well I was born (on the line) n I was raised (on the line)

I was schooled (on the line) n I was fazed (on the line)

n I was used (on the line) n I was dazed (on the line)

Just had to split (off the line) cos I was crazed (off the line)

I remember all the good times - me n miller enjoyed

Up and down the m1 in some luminous yo-yo toy

But the future has to change - and to change Ive got to destroy

Oh look out lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

All american alien boy all american alien boy

Dont look down put your feet on the ground dont drown in the big aquarium

Dont walk slow - put on a big show - shove your meat down vegetarians

Dont get slugged, get mugged, get bugged, or theyll sling you in the jug

Shove you under some rug, give you some drug - pull out the plug and then...

And theyre telling me this hamburgers cheaper than the other

n this televisions cheaper than the other

And theyre selling me hotdogs cheaper than the other

these pizzas cheaper than the other

And I dont understand all this - Im just an all american alien boy

they're telling me rifles are shot in connecticut

They're telling me pistols are shot in westchester

You can get a saturday night special on flatbush, on the bowery, or the bronx

Or on 42nd street - and I dont understand all this - being an all american alien boy

Ive got sodium nitrate rotting in my guts

My heads full of ulcers I got lungs full of butts

My heart wants a transplant - it thinks that Im nuts

My logic wont open - my eyes wont shut

I'm beginning to dig all this - being an all american alien boy

And your women are always right (alright)

They always know so much more

cos the women came from heaven

the men came outta some store

they dont know who they are and they dont know what they're for

I'm an all american alien boy - look out mary tyler moore - all american Alien boy

    Chorus

Ten bears, two bears, standing bear, plenty bear,

Old bear, brave bear, hollow horn bear

Silver knife, spotted tail, yellow hand, red cloud,

Red fox, red horse, black kettle,

White ghost, white bull, white thunder, white hog,

Hold on a minute gotta frog in my throat

Cochise, alchise, roman nose, geronimo - hold on a minute - more to go

Sitting bull, tall bull, crazy horse and short bull,

Low dog, red dog, yellow wolf, low wolf

Loco, victorio, chato, little crow, dead eyes, jak, taza n colorow

My mouths exploiting thats enough of this noise

I guess were all - all american alien boys.

When My Minds Gone by Mott The Hoople

    When my mind's gone
All I do is sit and think
    And the days go by
    I don't remember anything
    And yesterday becomes tomorrow
And I can see the day after tomorrow
I can even see next year
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone

    And the time goes fast
    And the shadows fly away
    If this feeling lasts
Then I won't have to find a thing to say
What once was clean is now unclean
What once was straight is now unstraight
What once was free is now unfree
What once was cold is now uncold
What once was me is now not me
    When my mind's gone
    When both my minds gone
When all of my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone

    So I'll take my secrets
I'll take them with me to my grave
    And if I'm taking yours
Then I will try to make it safe
    There ain't nothing going right
There ain't even nothing going wrong that's right
    And day is day
    And night ain't night
    And night is day
    And day is night
    And spring is summer
    And autumn's winter
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone
    Everything's gone
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone
    When my mind's gone

New Speedway Boogie by The Grateful Dead

Please don’t dominate the rap, jack, if you’ve got nothing new to say.
If you please, don’t back up the track this train’s got to run today.
I spent a little time on the mountain, I spent a little time on the hill
I heard someone say better run away, others say better stand still.

Now I don’t know, but I been told it’s hard to run with the weight of gold,
Other hand I have heard it said, it’s just as hard with the weight of lead.

Who can deny, who can deny, it’s not just a change in style?
One step down and another begun and I wonder how many miles.
I spent a little time on the mountain, I spent a little time on the hill
Things went down we don’t understand, but I think in time we will.
Now, I don’t know but I was told in the heat of the sun a man died of cold.
Keep on coming or stand and wait, with the sun so dark and the hour so late.
You can’t overlook the lack, jack, of any other highway to ride.
It’s got no signs or dividing lines and very few rule to guide.

I saw things getting out of hand, I guess they always will.
Now I don’t know but I been told
If the horse don’t pull you got to carry the load.
I don’t know whose back’s that strong, maybe find out before too long.

One way or another, one way or another,
One way or another, this darkness got to give.

Before He created Heaven and Earth, God created Hell to be used for people such as you who ask this kind of question.

I don't know what it is, streaming audio. Whatever it is really sucks. The sound of ducks quaking in music is so not cool. Ok...this stuff is BAD. If they play it again I may have to kill myself

Ohh thank god it's over....ok..this next song is sucking as well. Ok, kill the DJ please. Switching stations......eeshhh....bad stuff.

Groove Salad on shoutcast. Normally it's not bad...who is this DJ...shoot him please.......

Who Am I ? by Country Joe and the Fish

    Who am I
To stand and wonder, to wait
    While the wheels of fate
    Slowly grind my life away.
    Who am I ?
There were some things that I loved one time,
But the dreams are gone I thought were mine,
And the hidden tears that once could fall
Now burn inside at the thought of all
The years of waste, the years of crime
    Passions of a heart so blind;
To think that, but even still
As I stand exposed, the feelings are felt
And I cry into the echo of my loneliness.

    Who am I
To stand and wonder, to wait
    While the wheels of fate
    Slowly grind my life away.
    Who am I ?

What a nothing I've made of life
The empty words, the coward's plight
To be pushed and passed from hand to hand
Never daring to speak, never daring to stand
And the emptiness of my family's eyes
Reminds me over and over of lies
    And promises and deeds undone
And now again I want to run
But now there is nowhere to run to.

    Who am I
To stand and wonder, to wait
    While the wheels of fate
    Slowly grind my life away.
    Who am I ?

And now my friend we meet again
We shall see which one will bend
Under the strain of death's golden eyes
Which one of us shall win the prize
To live and which one will die
'Tis I, my friend, yes 'tis I
Shall kill to live again and again
To clutch the throat of sweet revenge
For life is here only for the taking.

    Who am I
To stand and wonder, to wait
    While the wheels of fate
    Slowly grind my life away.
    Who am I ? Who am I ?

    'Constipated' by Wierd Al Yankovic:

    Uh huh ... extra cheese
Uh huh, uh huh ... save a piece for me

    Pizza party at your house
I went just to check it out
    Nineteen extra larges
    What a shame
    No one came

    Just us eatin' all alone
You said, "Take the pizza home"
"No sense lettin' all this go to waste"
    So then I faced

    Pizza all day
    And every day
    This cheese 'round the clock
    Is gettin' me blocked
    And I sure don't care
    For irregularity

    Tell me
Why'd you have to go and make me so constipated?
'Cause right now I'd do anything to just get my bowels evacuated
In the bathroom ... I sit and I wait and I strain
And I sweat and I clench and I feel the pain
Oh, should I take laxatives or have my colon irrigated?
    No no no

    I was feelin' pretty down
    'Till my girlfriend came around
We're just so alike in every way
    I gotta say

In fact, I just thought I might
Pop the question there that night
I was kissing her so tenderly
    But woe is me

    Who would have guessed
    Her family crest
    I'd suddely spy
    Tattooed on her thigh
    And son-of-a-gun
It's just like the one on me

    Tell me
How was I supposed to know we were both related?
Believe me, if I knew she was my cousin we never would have dated
What to do now? Should I go ahead and propose
And get hitched and have kids with eleven toes
And move to Alabama where that kind of thing is tolerated?
No no no no no no no
No no no no no no no
    No no no no no

I had so much on my mind
    I thought maybe I'd unwind
Try out that new roller coaster ride
    And the guide

    Said not to stand
    But that's a demand
    That I couldn't meet
    I got on my feet
    And stood up instead
And knocked off my head, you see

    Tell me
Why'd I have to go and get myself decapitated?
This really is a major inconvenience, oh man, I really hate it
    Such a drag, now ... Can't eat, I can't breathe, I can't snore
I can't belch or yodel anymore
Can't spit or blow my nose or even read Sports Illustrated

    Oh no
Why'd I have to go and get myself all mutilated? (yeah, yeah)
I gotta tell ya, life without a head kinda makes me irritated
    What a bummer
    Can't blink, I can't cough, I can't sneeeze
But my neck is enjoyin' a pleasant breeze now
Haven't been the same since my head and I were separated
    No no no

Shane Macgowan, the Pogues "a Pair of Brown Eyes"

One summer evening, drunk to hell, I sat there nearly lifeless.
An old man in the corner sang, where the waterlillies grow
and on the jukebox johnny sang about a thing called love
and it's how are you kid and what's your name and how d'you bloody know

In blood and death 'neath the screaming sky I lay down on the ground
And the arms and legs of other men were scattered all around
Some preyed and cursed then cursed then preyed and bled some more
and the only thing that I could see was a pair of brown eyes that was waiting for me.
But when we got back labelled parts one to three, there was no pair of brown eyes waiting for me.

and a roving, a roving, a roving i'll go for a pair of brown eyes. For a pair of brown eyes.

I looked at him, he looked at me, all Icould do was hate him
While Ray and Philomena sang of my elusive dream
I saw the streams, the rolling hills, where his brown eyes were waiting
and I thought about a pair of brown eyes that waited once for me

So, drunk to hell, I left the place, sometimes crawling, sometimes walking.
a hungry sound came across the breeze so I gave the walls a talking.
I heard the sounds of long ago, from the old canal.
and the birds were whistling in the trees where the wind was gently laghing.

    and a roving, a roving

    Really.....don't laugh. Oh mio babbino......

    O mio babbino care,
    Mi piace, e bello bello,
    Vo andare in Porta Rossa
    A comperar l anello!
    Si,si ci voglio andare
    e se l amassi indarno
    andrei sui Ponte Vecchio
    ma per buttaarmi in Arno!
    Mi struggo e mi tormento!
    O Dio, vorrei morir!
    Babbo, pieta, pieta!
    Babbo, pieta, pieta!

    Oh my dear daddy
I love him, he is so handsome
I want to go to Porta Rossa
    to buy the ring!
    Yes, yes, I mean it
And if my love were in vain
I would go to Ponte Vecchio
and throw myself in the Arno!
    I fret and suffer torments!
Oh God, I would rather die!
    Daddy, have pity, have pity!
    Daddy, have pity, have pity!

As I only like electronic music and my favourite genres are Máquina and Hardcore (Gabber, Newstyle, Happy Hardcore, Speedcore, Darkcore and Terreur), I'm listening right now...

If you know you are on the right track, if you have this inner knowledge, then nobody can turn you off... No matter what they say (Barbara McClintock).

When you know you are right, you don't care what others thing. You know sooner or later it will come out in the wash (Barbara McClintock).
