I'm not sure how interested members here are on ancient Chinese mythology, but I would like to share with the rest of you the animated production depicting the origins and exploits of the Monkey God - Sun Wukong 孫悟空; probably one of the infamous characters from the novel - Journey to the West 西遊記. The translated title for this 1964 animated Shanghai Animation Film Studio production is called Havoc In Heaven 大鬧天宮 and is one of the more endearing animations from my childhood.

Consider this a taste on how the Chinese (particularly children) in general views their cultural mythology. I was mildly surprised to read on wikipedia that this animated feature *won an award in the 1978 International London Film Festival for outstanding film. I hope some of you will enjoy it as much as I have in my youth.

Full playlist with all eleven parts containing English subtitles and one full movie version without English subtitles.

When I was a kid the same story was on TV as "Monkey", a Japanese version of "Journey to the West" with outrageous voiceovers that were comedy gold!
