I really enjoy the TV Series Game of Thrones

its very good (its been showered with praises so I wont go into all the reasons its interesting)

But ah, Its in its 3rd season, and ah, somehow its starting to feel more and more like General Hospital or a Afternoon Soap Opera set in an intriguing Fantasy land, as far as where the story's going.
Its unfair because many TV series (except B5 which had large arcs that went somewhere) had limited larger story arc, more of a week to week thing, but I kind of was expecting a story going somewhere,
like a movie or a trilogy (New hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi), but at this point its just drifting along without any point or culmination in sight.

Its funny, both in its intended way, and by the unintended light it sheds on the US-Anglo culture (murder and violence perceived as normal and wholesome entertainment, but sexuality perceived as abnormal as if we are born in a cabbage fully clothed as a result of birds and bees)

(or, As if there was a beheading and the main point of focus/controversy was the unusual fashion of the shoes worn by the person being executed).

If you haven't read the series, I won't spoil it. Suffice it to say, there is quite a lot still to come. I imagine this season is going to end with one of my favorite moments in the series.

My favorite character is Arya in the books. I'd suggest keeping an eye on her.

Here's a take on the Game of Thrones that might be interesting to some of you. But, damn I'm looking forward to seeing full grown dragons in action. Wouldn't mind seeing the punk kid king getting his ass skewered.

The last Mad Magazine also had a good review: Game of Groans.

(I just can't watch that crap. It's IQ lowering.)

Unless you've watched all the episodes from the start it wouldn't be very good. I just happen to like both SciFi & fantasy programs.

Did you watch any of the Spartacus programs? Not something I'd watch with the family, but I liked them.

No. Sorry. Couldn't watch that either. Don't like zombie movies/series. Don't like vampire movies/series. Don't like werewolf movies/series. Don't like gladiator movies/series. In fact, I don't think there has been a series (or miniseries) on satellite that I've liked.

    I don't like much.

I would guess your a news and sports kind of guy. I like all kinds of action movies mostly "R" rated movies and those with great special effects.

This is pretty damn boring, talking about myself. It's boring the crap out of me. But . . .

The only sport I like to watch is soccer (football to the rest of the world) but I don't even watch much of that. Some news. Some documentaries. Mostly just movies.

After the second series ended, I decided to read all the Game of Throne books which I had just completed recently (There’s still 2 more books to be written).

I highly recommend reading these books, but having said that, I do envy those who have not read them yet. It’s a little distracting watching each new episode and knowing what comes next and what differs to the books. But reading the books does add a lot more depth to each character and plot.

    Yeah, what pineapple said.

Reading the books right now is a tricky thing. The books are amazing and do a lot more justice to the characters than the show. That having been said, it will spoil some really cool moments if you're more of a tv person than a book person.

Maybe follow up each season by reading the books they cover? That could be a pretty good way to get your full Game of Thrones kick.

I'd say its so good, because it has good actors and crew!

Welcome to the forum. I sense English is not your first language, but you list Canada as your location, so I would guess French might be your first language. If you run into any communication problems, I believe there are some very good translators you can install on your browser. But whatever, have some fun here.

That was good timing. He deleted his post after I commented on it.

But this particular post wasn't spam, just a bad use of English.
