Ode to my 800 Threads and Postes.

Allalone am I with my Threads and Postes.

Each given from the Brain where gathered most

My thoughts. From them I plucked

    The Gems.

Displayed the Jewels of Wisdom for all to see,

Members and Guests, Moderators are best,

How delightful They say, clap hands with Glee.

Old westwind enchants, he passes the test,

Very soon He will have 800 and then have a rest.

Westwind you only have 3 to go
To hell with the ones who would only say so

It is actually I that needs the rest
Stay to get to 800, and show them all your the best

    Another ode to 800
    That moment is almost here
    Win
    Cheer
    800 is near

But before you bid your past goodnight
Perhaps you could push a button
And give this post a like

Thanks chad. Its been a great ride to 800 and I know I've had the support of some fine people out there. I value the interest of those people starting out on the Journey of Life. Life's Journey is all that we really have of our own. We can make choices. Others may make choices for us, but in the end the choices we make will decide what kind of Journey we will have.

I've come to realise some of the factors that limit our ambitions. If we find the way ahead blocked, and it is important that this be somehow overcome, then we become very active in appraising the situation, putting a value on our chances of going that way. What we sometimes see as being the only way of making progress in our lives prevents us from seeing the other possibilities. Open all the doors and windows at every stop along the way, keeping an eye on a destination. Sometimes the Destination needs to be changed because you have changed, thats fine.

It is your attitude to others that will be the Dividends you reap from your journey through life.

Do not be a sour horse. If your natural disposition is to be shy or introverted this can be a great virtue. If gives you an opportunity, and the time, to be determined to create an image building occupation, say mastering the basis of becoming a fine Cook or Chef, ( this will bring friends to you ). Force yourself to learn Acting for the Theatre, this act of Will on your part will give you an insite into your Strengths and will certainly determine your staying power.

Everybody deserves to be contented for most of the Time.

The one Journey modifying mistake that possibly anyone may make centres around your ability to be mature when seeking( or being seeked ), a Lover, a Companion, a Soul Mate, a Partner, to share your Journey with.

This of course is central to most peoples ambitions. MY advice. Hasten Slowly. Theres some fine members of the opposite Sex out there. If you grab the first fish you ever catch, you may soon find your catch full of bones, and these bones will stick in your throat and strangle you for the rest of your life.

There are some matters that require a lot of figuring out. You'll never regret the time you took to test the waters first before plunging in.

Good Luck on your Journey. We all need a little luck. No matter the hic Cups, they will pass and, if sensible be forgotten. Never loose sight of what may be possible. And remember, you need good Firemen to keep your Train rolling in the right direction and at the right speed. westwind.

This virtual medium we call the web is aptly named you see,
allowing transverse of time and space, conjoining you and me.

In every place, we leave a trace, a sampling of ourselves,
sharing of our wisdom, like books upon the shelves,
for lessons learned, experience earned does no good for another
until it's shared, no value, these words learned from my mother.

From what quarter blows the wind, oh you of westward word?
For I would surely miss you, your voice would go unheard
by others who might know the many sights you've seen.
We know not what before, but we can learn from where we've been.

And I shall watch the back-trail and hope for your return,
for your words do much inspire me and I still have much to learn.

Congrats on reaching 800. I found bible scripture that I think actually foreshadowed this momentous occasion

    The 23rd Westwinds

The Forum is my passion, I shall not leave.
It makes me speak to online screens, it leads me inside myself
It restores my youth. It guides me in paths of written odes for science's sake.
Even though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of LIKES, I will fear no appraisal, The Science Forum is with me; its Mods and staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a Sticky before me in the presence of my critics. You appoint my thread as royal; my modesty overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my 800, and I will dwell in the lab of the scientist forever.

Dear zinjanthropos. Thank you. As The Science Forum Members know a little direct or indirect praise goes a long way with westwind. It makes up for all the times I stumble and get it wrong. It makes up for the real hurt or imagined hurt that we all must experience on our road to Maturity. Or acceptance, I struggle with acceptance, and believe I can always make things better for myself. It, of course, is not always possible.

Always move on from dissapointment quickly. You will find this piece of advice to be the most valuable.

But now, zinjanthropos, the 23 Psalm. Thank you. I have a kind of Faith that centres around respect for the unknown. Strong believer that there is Ancestoral Influence in ones life. Pause when a red light goes on in your head. Just may be a caution from one of your Guardian Angels. Also your Guardian Angels can be mischievious and may work against your best interests.

But back to your mental conquring with this well known Psalm, as you are now approaching your most brilliant years of Litery Intelligence I more than concede that The Science Forum have has an adequate back up of Wordsworths and John Masefields should westwind fall off his twig.

All members who have Posted on this Thread have the ability over and above their contribution to Scientific interests. This makes for valuable insight when contributing to straight Science Threads. And a bit of a Giggle helps the Gravity go down.

This I believe will be the 799th Poste. You have nourished me so far this year, so after my 800th Thread and a short break up country, leaving Thursday 18th., I'll probably need your Company and observations on my mental condition. Thanks again all, my 800th Thread tomorrow, in the oohaasee Sub/Forum. westwind.

Interesting possibility, however one would then expect the OP to be by another rather than the one who has been 'scattered to the wind' n'est-ce pas?

The mood seems quite serious. A limerick to lighten your journey WW.

There once was a poster called Westwind
(His posts, although good, are not yet pinned)
    In Australia he'd try,
    To reach for the sky,
And the final result was a great win.

P.S. I hope I misread between your lines.

scan0061.jpg We have arrived at the 1000th Poste. It was by sheer grit and determination that my old body went the Distance.

Let this be a lesson for you all. Never give up. Keep optimistic. Try to weigh your words. It is not compulsary to be always speaking.

Don't hurt anybody. And that includes yourself.

I'm staying for a little while yet. While I think I'm still contributing to the principles of TSF.

But I'll not be here forever. ( I heard that!!).

Doubleclick image to open. Close right hand corner. westwind.

scrape the earth bare, find the slate that is there,

and bring that slate to me.

for on this slate i'm going to state the state of the world to thee

    not about me.

inscription one is almost done. this does not concern you,

    go to two.

inscription two cannot be read by those who are dead.

    go to three.

inscription three is for you and me,

    so much to see.

so the history of the world is now recorded

go forth with this knowledge and be rewarded. westwind.
