When an artist draws/paints/composes something, he/she also
deposit a part of his/her soul to the masterpiece...

Thats why those who view/listen/read etc. the work of the
artist will feel the passion and love to his/her life that the
    atist had...

I am an artist and I think a good artist needs a motto...
    My motto is:

"Why to copy the beauty of the rose, when better praise would be making it unique?"

So what is your motto, if you have one?

Machina multa minax minitatur maxima muris

Carminis Iliaci libros consumpsit asellus. O Fatum Troiae! Aut ecus aut asinus!

    Vita regit Fortuna, non sapientia!

As a strictly amature musician, I have tried to compose short pieces of music, but when something starts to sound good, I find it is too simular to other pieces that I know, it must be very hard to come up with something good and original.

my music teacher has on many occasions said to me that there are not very many original idea that come out of the music industy and of course you can see the roots of many different forms of music.

it almost seems to evolve over history depending on what inspires people the most. if it sounds like something else you heard before then its probably just inspired you in someway.
