I haven't shared any of my videos yet, so I'll throw this out - a blend of art and science.

Creating Rainbow Art with Thin Film Interference (accopanying video)

    Materials:
    black posterboard
    clear nail polish
    pan of water

    1. Submerge the posterboard in the water.
    2. Drop nail polish onto the water. Sacrifice a eye dropper for bigger drops and films. The drop will float, spread out into a film, and then begin to dry. Like oil in a puddle, it will have thickness on the order of the wavelength of light - producing thin film interference.
    3. Carefully lift the sheet, starting at one end, to collect the films.
    4. Let dry for several hours.

Kind of a kiddy experiment, yes, but still some beautiful results. The colors are really spectacular. I already tried framing one, and might actually make some accents out of it - it's actually fairly similar to this glass art plate I bought.

That was very good . The most simplest of things can seem so beautiful at times.

Nice experiment!I was amazed! I want to try that out, just out of curiosity! Funny to think that with just a clear nail polish you can do an art! Fun experiment indeed! Thanks for sharing!
