Nice paleontology series on BBC4 and iPlayer: Fossil Wonderlands: Nature's Hidden Treasures by Prof. Richard Fortey.

First episode explores the Burgess Shale; second episode looks at feathered dinosaurs in China; the last episode explores mammal and insect fossils from German deposits. A Lagerstätten tour, as it were.

Thanks for the link, Zwirko - I have 3 available episodes to watch, the Burgess Shale one being of most interest: a book on it which I read 20 or so years ago impressed and startled me with its contents and a film on the subject is of interest. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks again.
Scientists and religionists can be easily differentiated: one lot is arrogant, irascible and disdainful, the other believes in God.

Its sad that they only did three segments, but a Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Tertiary site for each does makes sense.
