If the world ends at 12-21 2012, doesn't the Chinese die before we get to die?

Since the time is set by GMT and is acc to rotation of earth. But, on absolute scale (leaving relativistic effects), if the world goes, it goes at one time in one single bang.

obviously disaster will only strike for those using the US date format, since in europe there just isn't a 21st month

Unless we can figure out an exact time when this will occur, then this probably is not a valid end to the world.

I believe it is obvious that this has nothing to do with astronomy. Although Galileo Galilei practised astrology times have moved on...... and this has been moved to pseudoscience.

Have a nice End of Times

Some are all getting ready for this "end of the world". We shouldn't judge based on our opinions. We may think we can predict the future but truth is we can't. For all we know the world could end on 2012. Just being Devil's Advocate here.

If the world shall see its end then I do not want to know about except to say "I hope I accumplish something before that happens" which is exactly what I have to say about my death, ironicly I don't want to be known after death or for much moring so I guess I will have to contrubiute to something no cares about, which is fine by me. Wow I guess that is probably not the right place to say all that but it seemed as convient as any and I agree with Ophiolite on this being in Pseudoscience

Little off topic here...oh well. I am still in High School but all I want to do before I die is help benefit or further mankind, not just society. If you know what I mean.

I'll have just finished my final exams for my second-to-last semester of college. How depressing.

I don't believe in this "end of the world" crap though, so that's fine by me.

Probably but we're all agreed on this matter anyway. Nothing left to argue unless somebody enlightens us on a new perspective.

And that's why I didn't seek the creation of a sub-forum on common sense and move the thread there. Smile
