What "is" an Orgasm ? - In biological terms. I think (could be wrong here) that it is a spasm of some sort ? - If that is that case, is it possible to have an "orgasm" involving any muscle group ? - and not just those linked with the genatalia. ?

I think it is a combinations of things, like maybe the way the muscles contract and the blood flow increasing the receptors and what like. I have no idea exactly though how the orgasm is so big compared to the stimulus beforehand.

It's basically your parasympathetic system switches to sympathetic via pelvic nerves which causes muscular contraction & secretion of semen, the muscular contraction also causes its propulsion. The secretion causes the internal genitals to become full and its this sudden fullness that produces the sensation.
In women muscular contraction works in reverse to help move sperm into the uterus.

I see, so what you are saying is that during the male orgasm, when the sperm exits the testicles into the pipes (sorry - lack of vocab!) and into the urethra, it is the moment that it fills the "pipes" that causes the sensation; and NOT the actual muscle spasm itself ?

male and female orgasms are similar in that the muscles spasm.
With the male the intention is to pump the fluid out with force so that it has more chance to get to where it needs to.
With the female the spasms are more of a contraction in order to draw that which is being pumped in more deeply!
If you have ever seen that film, and i can't remember what it's called does anyone know?, but it was made some years ago, when they had little cameras inside filming everything. You can see how in a female orgasm the cervix during a spasm almost dips intself into the sperm as if drawing it in.
The orgasm though is not just a physical phenomena and can in the right conditions also be an emotional and spiritual experience.
Which is why the orgasm has been used over centuries in sex magick because it produces a high level of energy and intensity |

I could never ever get my head around that one!!
Why on earth would a man want to stop his woman getting so much pleasure when guys worry so much about their partner having a good time and they being the best lover she's ever had!???
Well the only reasons are obvious and are sick sick sick!!
If a man treated his woman right and she was worth having she wouldn't even consider going and having sex with anyone else! |

Oh yes, Women are so much better in scarlet!
Symbolism of this and the cup or chalice can be found all over in mythology from all over the world and in different eras.
Then the Monotheistic religions came along and spoilt it all!
I think we should go back to pluralism like Hinduism so we can pick and choose our Gods and stop all this frigid narrow-minded obsessional fear with sex! |

Believing in more than one life can lead you to being lazy in this one.
Just in case...because we can't know for sure, i think i will give my all and best to this one and have as many orgasms about and with as many things as i possibly can so i can answer the original question much better!

Would you agree that the orgasm is more than just a physical phenomena,
and do you think that a human can experience an orgasm with other things in the world other than another human?

Well I don't know about art, but Nigel Mansell said that driving a racing car was more pleasurable than having sex, (haven't seen him around for a while...).
And then there are rumours about Australians, the welsh and some sheep.
A metaphorical orgasm maybe but not one in the normal sense. |
