Speculation

We can arrange non-geostationary satellites with "ultra-strong" magnets in such a way that a series of wires on Earth cut the electromagnetic field produced by them regularly to generate electric current.

POSSIBLE?

If it is possible, I would think it would create a drag on the satellite that would eventually cause it to fall out of orbit.

What about dangling one from the moon?

Oh great, you want to bring the moon crashing down on us? Very Happy

It has been done before by NASA to control altitude in spacecraft. And yes it would be pulled to earth.

P.S the NASA experiment faild.

The best way to get power from satellites is to put photo voltaic cells on satellites closer to the sun, have the satellites send the power in the form of microwaves to satellites orbiting earth where they can direct the microwaves to points on the planet to be used in generating power anywhere it might be needed on the planet's surface.

Humanity needs to learn to harness the power of this stable fusion reactor!
