I pretty much don't believe in psychic abilities (although I'll keep an open mind).
But...
if criminals do, and think that there's nothing they can do do prevent a psychic from catching them...
then maybe it serves as a crime deterrent for those believers....
I think if police agencies spend money on psychics, then it's a waste of money. But it might make a "good" impression for those impressionable would-be criminals.
Who knows...?

About my avatar: This is a smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) simulation of the merger of two galaxies. The code was written by Volker Springel of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics at Garching Germany. | I don't think the police should endorse psychics in any way, shape, or form. It gives credibility to an industry that by and large preys off the gullible and/or desperate. |
