Hello,

I am currently doing a science experiment at school about the affects of salt levels on plants.

Does anyone know of any good places I can start researching the topic?

The experiment I have created is using two different plants, one that is tolerant to salt, the other not. For both plants there will be five different concentrations of salt within the soil (0%, 20%, 40% etc), and will be watered this concentration. Along the experiment I will be measuring the weight as well as making written observations.

The only major problem I have at the moment is finding information about the topic. I need to find two plants, one which is very tolerant to salt and another which is not tolerant. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Try searching for things like "marsh plants" or "ocean side plants" to find salt tolerant plants, and any regular plant in your backyard usually won't be highly tolerant to salt.

You may want to go to a decent pet shop and ask about fresh water and salt water plants for aquariums. Just a thought.
