"The future of the planet's climate, the lives and livelihoods of billions of people depend on the energy generation choices being made today. We have the opportunity to stabilize climate change, end the nuclear nightmare and tackle the inequity of fuel poverty afflicting one in three people on the planet. Two billion people currently live without reliable access to life enhancing energy services like light and heat. " _________________ Behind every great love is a great story!

The topic may be fit for discussion, but as original poster you have the duty to at least explain your statement. Posting a picture wont suffice.
So please elaborate, otherwise this thread may not last long. |

I'll have a go.
Substatially reducing population size is the only solution to the climate crisis.
That poses a bit of a problem. |

I believe the point is that many people advocate nuclear power as a temporary way to slow down climate change since it is a way of producing electricity without producing greenhouse gases. The problem with nuclear power is finding places to put the nuclear waste, the USA has the arizona dessert, and Canada has the vast expanse of igneous rock in the Canadian Shield. However, most countries lack large unpopulated areas where they can store waste. |

| It is a moot point. Climate change is not simply the result of burning fossil fuels. We have reduced carbon sinks planet-wide. We do this to feed the population and in the name of improving the standard of living of people everywhere. |

Well as the world stands now, we would all have to convert to being vegetarians to provide proper nutrition to everyone on the planet, so obviously overpopulation is a major issue. Aside from the loss of many carbon sinks worldwide the massive levels of carbon emissions aren't helping matters either. At the least people should stop burning coal, black clouds can't be good for anyone. |
