I've not been involved in that but I'll have a go and see if it works for me, don't hold your breath though...

Yeah it looks like it's duff for all!

If you wish to chat you could PM them and agree an alternate media for now.

EDIT:

THere was a thread on this sometime ago, I'll see if I can find the answer fo you.

The Chat works, nobody appears to ever use it. I've left it in place as it's not really hurting anything. Once in a while I'll log in to see if anyone else is there.

Go to the Java website and download the update. It should work after that, but nobody ever goes on.....

It's actually just an IRC client. So if you want to really know the down and dirty Google IRC commands.

What browzer are you using? Opera gives some problems with some web2 sites and when loading Java applets are involved, in which case I switch to Internet Explorer. Firefox might be ok too.

Might it be a firewall issue with your company IT set up.

Yes I agree Ophiolite. I get a security warning everytime I access the live chat so i'd say that that is 99% the reason it won't open at work.

download worked ok - at least now i can see the applet's content

one problem remaining though :

Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out: connect

but that's probably another story (probably firewall related)
