What are the official forum rules on links in signatures? Are links in sigs allowed here?

Just asking. Wink

None, I don't think. Enough people seem to have them anyway. If you have the option to make your web-site accesible on the forum, then I can't see why other links would be frowned upon. Within reason of course.

Yea I don't see a problem with that. The main thing is that people shouldn't post links just for advertisement rather than to back up an argument or so (some benign advertisement is allowed in the 'links' section). It doesn't matter if the links are in the sig or in the rest of the post, as long as they're appropriate and serve a function (amuzing people is also a function) then it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you, Bit4bit and Pendragon! Smile

My idea is that if I come across a nice website worth sharing, I might feel like sharing it through my sig. I thought I’d ask first because I know some forums frown on sigs with links. Wink

Links in Sigs are fine so long as they are not of a commercial nature. For example, if you sign up just to post junk responses in hopes people might click on your link in your sig to get more shoe sales Smile
