I am using internet explorer 7. Im using windows XP
For some reason when im looking at the net explorer will suddenly slick back 1, 2, or even 3 pages without me clicking on the back button.
any ideas ? / fixes ?

It could be bug but I have read some people got the same problem as well that's why I tend to shift to either IE and firefox from time to time to encounter this type of problems and errors from both browser.

| IE is poison, for a number of reasons. Opera or Firefox are faster, smaller footprint, and most of all, do not fill your HD with hidden folders and files that force you to use deltree to get rid of them! |

I use both IE7 (with Windows Vista) and Mozilla Firefox. Firefox has both advantages and disadvantages over IE. One advantage is that Firefox allows handy add-ons like Adblock which I can use to block images I don’t want to see. On the other hand, Firefox does not “wrap” URLs, so whenever a superlong URL comes up, a horizontal scroll bar appears and I have to scroll sideways – which is annoying to say the least. 
Also, I actually find IE much faster than Firefox. I wonder if this might only be because my Firefox Adblock filter is too full of the addresses of blocked images.

Interesting. I've found Explorer much slower than most of the popular browsers, especially Opera and Firefox. Apart from the speed and footprint issue, Opera and Firefox seem more intuitive, have better ad and cookie control, and I love the tabbed viewing, available for some time in Opera. I would turn off the address collection: what advantage is there to cache those ? |

Tabbed browsing is available in IE7 as well. I believe Microsoft copied it from other browsers. It’s extremely handy indeed – so much less messy than opening multiple windows. I’m so used to tabbed browsing myself that I wouldn’t exchange it for anything in the world now.
Another very useful feature of tabbed browsing is that you have the option of having a dialogue box pop up to alert you when you’re about to close a window with multiple tabs. I always enable this option so I don’t close an entire window by accident. (If you close a single tab by accident, Firefox even allows you to restore that tab immediately.)

Firefox 3 beta 5 is out, i use it even though it is not considered "ready" by mozilla.
I haven't had any problems, the footprint is smaller than even opera now!
Much faster loading pages than opera as well
Firefox 3 has nice features like wrapped urls, built in download manager now allows you to pause and resume, scrolling tabs, smart bookmarks, much more!

Ooh! After reading your post, I just had to download and install Firefox 3 Beta 5 – and it works!  Now long URLs no longer cause horizontal scrolling – yippee!! 
And yes, it seems faster too.

Just an update, they are now at Firefox version 3 RC 2
The Download Day has been made into a World Record attempt that everyone can participate in.

yeah ... FF only release 3 version but IE already at stage 7. till now IE still can't beat FF 3.
