I'm a professor in the humanities (folklorist) who has a real interest in theoretical physics as it applies to astronomy. I was, at one time, pursuing a degree in physics, but got distracted and left the field. However, my love for science has never waned and I am looking for a place to discuss ideas/philosophies I have about the field of theoretical physics and to learn from people working in the discipline. Glad to have found a forum for such inquiries here.

2. In order to make money you either will be doing the afore mentioned research because that is where all the free grant money is, working for a company, or having to teach people some of whom really should not be there
3. You cannot take up reserach biologist as a hobby inless you have another substancial form of income
