Hello, I am a grade 10 student and I have been entering a prestigious Science Fair for the past 2 years, leaving with silver and bronze but this time I want to go for gold.
Before I begin I would like to note that it is not the complexity of the process that is the issue.
My two possible experiments / innovations are the following...
1. To genetically combine two plants that have different vitamins, therefore creating one plant that has the nutrient value of two, possibly more depending one which plants are selected.
2. To build a device that generates electricity in an innovative fashion.
Any help, suggestions or improvements would be very nice. By the way, the sponsors of this science fair focus mainly on engineering.

Sounds rather ambitious lol.
I don't think you would be very successful at combining two plants, it's much easier to insert a new gene into a pre-existing plant. Hybrids come with all sorts of problems due to chromosome differences, and if two plants are close enough to hybridize they likely don't have much nutritional difference between them.
So, I suppose if you think you can come up with innovative ways to generate electricity I suppose that is more original... |

Well if I phrased it incorrectly I meant to insert a genes. Like antifreeze in tomatoes.
If anyone had any suggestions or links I would be grateful. |
