I doubt spamming your sites with illegal material is what this section of the forum is for.

Well it doesn't have to be illegal per se, and perhaps it could be useful for the members of this forum. But if there are signs that these websites promote illegal behaviour then please report it to the mods.

Here you may find lots of ebooks as well as audiobooks for free:
http://www.gutenberg.org

Interesting scientific articles are here:
http://plato.stanford.edu/

P.S. if you're looking for modern si-fi as well as historic or other novels I can also help, but pm me the exact search, for example "star wars" or "babylon 5"

Yea I heard they're offering audiobooks on gutenberg now, really cool idea. Do you know if the quality is good?

There are two types of audiobooks there:
1 - read by human;
2 - read by computer.

The quality is normal. It depends on the reader and the book.
Most of books are divided into parts, so you may download one part to realize the quality of the whole book. The books are represented in different formats, not only MP3.

they are rips from CDs as well as PDF files of various books and they are being downloaded for free. I went to the site and saw that they even had various books by O'Reilly and such which are bought from the O'Reilly site itself, not for download for free.

Edit: I mean the first post in this thread I'm not sure about the others.
