Scientists on an expedition led by Conservation International have discovered over 50 new species in the Bird's Head Seascape of Papua, including a new species of walking shark which has received a great deal of media attention. Also found were flasher wrasses and more than 600 kinds of coral. The area is threatened by unsustainably fishing. Read the full story at Conservation International:
