After I got braces, I suddenly became a habitual teeth grinder. As a result, while unknowingly grinding my teeth at night, I chipped the tip of my top left canine.

The tooth is really sensitive now.

Is there a way to relieve the sensitivity? Does it naturally go away once the enamel has rebuilt around the chipped area?

Thanks

I don't think the enamel rebuilds. Better go to the dentist.

talk to your dentist about wearing a nightguard so you don't grind your teeth in your sleep.

Apparently I used to do the same thing. Now my canines look like the rest of my teeth (so much for my dreams of being a vampire.) Anyways, they've been like that for a couple years now and nothing has grown back. Now I'm all for miracles and cool technology but as far as I know your teeth are going to stay that way.

Enamel never grows back, more importantly is that if the nerve is exposed he needs to get a cap or he might lose his tooth.

Well I was wondering if it will "patch up" the exposed area with enamel.

Well, I guess not then.

I did tell my orthodontist and he said that he can smooth it out so they look even with the other teeth.

However, I found this procedure online and it seems quite promising.
