Which is the better author, Isaac Asimov or Robert Heinlein?

It's a very close call but I'd have to say that Heinlein wins, I loved Foundation but damn Heinleins novels are so amazingly written it's no wonder many were made into films.

I agree with the Robert Heinlein choice, but I have read a book of his that wasn't very good. The Number of the Beast. This was the only one of his books that I couldn't finish. Anyone else have that problem?

both Heinlein and Asimov started to suffer from bloat-ism in the second half of their careers + Heinlein revealed himself as a dirty old man in his last few novels

but in their prime, i consider them evenly matched

Sorry, but i'd have to disagree! I don't think i've read anything of asimovs that i didn't like. both fiction and non-fiction
